September on Sherkin Island

Its taken me a while to get organised to write this post but I wanted to share with you our lovely September weekend on Sherkin Island, West Cork. Last weekend I visited with a group of five lovely ladies from my WINE ......Ahem!...... BOOK Club & what a lovely time we had. Sherkin Island (from the Gaelic Inish Earcain) is one of a group of islands located in the fabulously named Roaringwater Bay. It has a population of about 100 people - many of them artists and craftspeople. Its about 3 miles long by 1 & a half miles wide.

We boarded the ferry in the seaside town of Baltimore.....

Can you tell how excited myself and Susan were to be out of the car and on the ferry?!!

And when we arrived it was straight on with the wellies .....

And out for a walk in the glorious September Sunshine....

My little camera cannot do justice to the beautiful views ...

Lovely and all as the outdoors was .. inside was pretty special too ....

Snuggled up in the cottage with lots of crochet and chat & crafty bits ...pure BLISS!!!

Oh & I can't forget to thank the hens on Sherkin for our lovely eggs for breakfast!

I can't wait to go back again! If you'd like to see some more of Sherkin why not check out our hosts Blog @ Wildsherkin.

Thank you for visiting & come back soon !

Love
